Index Bloat

The index bloat refers to the condition under which the actual presence and indexation of the search engine fills the pages with the website, which are mostly not valuable at all for the users. Crawl waste can also come from so many factors like dynamic URLs, duplication of content, and pages with very little content. There are various negative effects that index bloat can generate: First, it will make it costlier for the search engines to crawl an indexed site; second, it will bring an apparent loss of site authority as it’s seen to be rich in low-value content; finally, it can lead to a bad user experience owing to their crawling through hollow pages just trying to find some information. To fix index bloat, it really involves finding and deleting or improving them and optimising robots.txt and meta tags for indexing control in site architecture
