Meta keywords were initially a way for search engines to know what keywords went with the content of a web page but have since become obsolete. They were most ignored by major search engines, such as Google. This was because they were easily abused by spammers. It would still be possible to include the meta keywords tag in the code of your website, but it has nothing to do with search engine results. Instead, focus your keyword optimisation on other things, such as title tags, meta descriptions, and on-page content optimisation, which are much more effective means of keyword optimisation.
