Search Intent is the basis of search query: it tells us what the user hopes to achieve or gain by putting something in the search bar. Understanding search intent is key to content creation and even its optimisation in search engine. If you don’t have an idea as to what the user wants, the possibility of ranking your content high goes low. Generally, search intent can be classified from “Informational” to “Transactional” and ultimately to “Commercial Investigation.” Informal type users want to know something about a particular thing. Navigational means the user is searching for a particular page/website. Transactional intent means buyer intending to place some orders with purchase. The commercial investigative manner produces terms referring to a product or service for which the user wants to know more before buying. Knowing what type of search intent is behind a query allows your content strategy to pre-emptively shape the best experience for its audience across the entry point of a search.
