Several unethical techniques of SEO are termed Spamdexing. They are search engines ranking through deceptive practices. Such techniques also violate search engine guidelines, and thus lead to penalties, drop in ranking, or even a deindexing. Spamdexing tactics include keyword stuffing, cloaking, hidden text, link farming, and article spinning. All are forms of overusing keywords, showing different content to different audiences, hiding keywords within the code, and generating lots of spammy sites for backlink development, as well as taking low-quality duplicate content on adapting content. Spamdexing is risky and very unethical practice regarding SEO. Although it can give a temporary advantage, the long-haul impact can be disastrous, with reputation damage and inability to draw in organic traffic.
