Title Tag

The title tag is the defining title for an HTML web page that communicates the most to search engines and users alike, since it appears in search engine results pages (SERPs) and within the title bar of the browser. Summarising the content of a page to a user and attaching meaning for search engines to find it, the title tag is an effective means to achieve the above. An effective title tag is expected to be accurate, descriptive, engaging, and efficient while including the necessary keyword. A title should be short too because search engines show limited numbers of characters for results retrieved from their data bank. Title tag optimisation is one of the most important on-page SEO tactics. A great title tag can attract clicks, thereby getting more visitors to the site through search results. However, stuffing with keywords or duping the title would result in adverse experience to users and also poor search rankings, as it is not wise. Thus, the title tag should indicate properly what the page has and encourage the users to click it through to find out more. It is also important to have unique title tags for every page on the site to avoid duplicate content issues.
